The pounding surf
Churning at the shore,
Foaming aggravation for loss of her expanse
Crashes at his feet.

And the tunnels of his ears
Are filled with its fury.

Yet seaward clamor
does not turn his head
Nor howling wind which whips his hair
Turn his attention.

Cruel nature that would damn him,
torrentially insane,

Insulates itself
From Providence and
It’s place as pawn in God’s celestial game,
Storming on the beach.

While blissful in the sand
walk a happy couple.

Why, O angry Sea,
Must you raise your ire?
These two God has ordained to walk your shore
So why then protest?

Will the earthbound sea,
Defy the stars of heav’n?

All Creation
(Not you, O Sea, alone)
Has bent to this Divine Manipulation
To bring them thus.

His Divine machinations
has drawn the twain.

The young man, is
Gazing not on You,
O sea, but captivated by the heav’nly gift
Clutching at his arm.

O Sea! Embittered lover!
He has left you for another.

These two sins
Against you wrought:
God has made you the romantic scene;
You have lost his love.

Affections no longer yours
Now that she has staked her claim

So then bitter sea
Rage in foaming futility.
But forget not Lucifer your brother
who fell from on high.

Your obstinacy
At His manipulation,
At loss of your lover, like Satan’s ploys
Fall upon your head:

Your storm provides more romance
Than ever did your docility.
